We are a non-profit organization established in 2019 with the mission to prevent the spread of Lyme and other possible infectious arthritic conditions through research and education of providers and the public.
Because chronic illness affects the working poor disproportionately, LymeCARES focuses our services on all of rural New York with an emphasis in Broome, Chemung, Chenango, Delaware, Tioga, and Monroe counties.
Despite the large geographic size of this focus area, we are able to make an outsized impact by leveraging strategies with a wide reach like continuing education credits. A single provider can conservatively see 20 patients per day, which amounts to 200 patients per month. Over the course of a year, we can make a positive impact on the care of over 2400 patients by reaching even a single provider with our continuing education classes.
